It's time to GO GREEN in your office!

The Department of Local Government and the Environment (DLGE) provides and services recycling banks for public recycling sites (e.g. Tesco, Grandstand etc) around the island. In 2008, we collected 1620 tonnes paper, 1400 tonnes glass, 25 tonnes aluminium & 4.3 tonnes dry-cell batteries for recycling. This year, we hope to exceed these figures. In addition, we have set up a kerbside recycling scheme for half of the households on the Island, which commenced in November 2008. However, unfortunately the DLGE is unable to provide paper / glass / aluminium / battery recycling bins for offices or workplaces as they are not designated for ‘domestic’ use, but the good news is that help is at hand and we are delighted to provide the following information regarding local initiatives:

EcoPrint

A newly launched green office initiative called `Ecoprint’ has been developed on the island by two local companies working in partnership together: Home Strategic and Big Fish. It offers any organisation, school or business a free print audit in terms of their current work, across a range of internal and external print requirements as well as options for going green. The scheme is designed to save money, reduce environmental impact and improve an organisation's green credentials. Call Big Fish (Tel: 661331) to arrange your free audit. For more infomation, click on the EcoPrint & Print Audit documant at the bottom of this page.
