Recycling Statistics

Statistics are very important for recycling. They indicate how much we are recycling and from this, we can work out how much we are still leaving in our bins!

The following statistics pages detail the tonnages of household - derived recyclables that the DLGE has collected from public recycling sites since records began in 2004. Tonnages are provided for the paper, glass and aluminium recycled.

In addition, the tonnages of materials collected via kerbside recycling collections are also available. This scheme began in November 2008. Tonnages are provided for the amounts of paper, glass, aluminium, steel cans and plastic bottles recycled.

Finally, details of the tonnages of household batteries collected (on a quarterly basis) for recycling are also available. This scheme began in June 2005.
